The measure at a glance
Proposition 144, referred by the Legislature as HCR 2001, designated the Fast, Accurate, Secure and Transparent Election Results Act, is a proposed amendment to the Arizona Constitution.
- Adds an option to have your ballot tabulated on-site at your voting location.
- Applies one proof-of-identity standard to every ballot, with government-issued ID at no cost.
- States that only U.S. citizens may vote in Arizona elections.
- Prohibits foreign nationals from spending money to influence Arizona elections.
- Does not end mail voting, early voting or ballot drop-offs.
Dates to know
Election day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Arizona's voter registration deadline and the start of early ballot mailing are set by statute relative to that date, confirm both at arizona.vote, which is the Secretary of State's official voter portal.
Three things to do before you vote
- Check your registration and mailing address at arizona.vote.
- Make sure your government-issued ID is current and shows your address.

How to vote your ballot
For the mail ballot: sign it, show ID, send it back, and return it early rather than on election day. For in-person voting: bring your identification to your voting location.
