Arizona's election integrity ballot measure in 2026: what is on the ballot

· 5 min read

Arizona voters placing ballots into a secure ballot drop-off at golden hour

'Election integrity' is a loaded phrase used by all sides. Set the phrase aside and look at the mechanics on the ballot.

The measure

Proposition 144, referred by the Legislature as HCR 2001 and designated the Fast, Accurate, Secure and Transparent Election Results Act, is the election-procedure amendment Arizonans decide on November 3, 2026.

Four provisions, four questions to ask

Judge each provision on its own merits:

  • On-site tabulation option, does letting voters have ballots counted at the location reduce delay without reducing access?
  • Uniform proof of identity, is one standard for every ballot fairer than different standards for in-person and mail?
  • Citizens-only voting, does writing this into the constitution add meaningful protection over existing law?
  • Foreign money ban, does Arizona need a state-level rule where federal law does not clearly reach?

Where to check claims

Read the measure at azleg.gov. Read the impartial legislative council analysis and the filed pro/con arguments in the Secretary of State publicity pamphlet at azsos.gov. Then read partisan sources, including this one, knowing what the text says.
